I don't find this bit of news to be farfetched. The 360 version of the first game ran a 60 fps, and given the added power of the Wii U I'm sure they can do that at a higher resolution. I'll support this game with my $ when it launches. I enjoyed the first and they seem to be working hard to make a great experience.
