We all know that the 3DS is absolutley destroying the competition right now. Weather it be other handhelds, other consoles, hell, other electronics in general, the 3DS is flying off shelves worldwide. With Pokemon and Monster hunter soon to come, Nintendo's handheld will no doubt finish very strong. I'm not questioning the success of the 3DS however. I'm questioning weather or not that success speaks to how much better a product it is when compared to the like of the PSVITA.

I own both platforms. I have also owned multiple sku's of DS and PSP with a large game collection of both systems. In my opinion, the DS had a much better librairy of games compared to the PSP. While I still loved my Crisis core, God of War, ect, my DS experience much overall greater because of a stronger librairy.

With that said, I think the PSVITA librairy is stronger than the 3DS currently. It's close, but overall I would give the edge to Vita. Uncharted, Persona 3 golden, LBPVITA, both Rayman games, Killzone Mercenary, and soon to be Tearaway are all steller titles. Pokemon and Monster Hunter could sway me back into favoring the 3DS, but the main point I'm trying to convey is that the libariry on both these handhelds are close in terms of quality. The main difference is that the 3DS is outselling the Vita by like a 10 to 1 margin in hardware with AAA titles selling in upwards of 5 mil. Meanwhile Vita just got it's first million seller in Uncharted....

I think I understand though. Sony tried. They have tried very hard actually when it comes to the handheld market. But unfortunatley, they don't understand what the handheld gamer wants. And what that gamer wants is: a low priced handheld system that produces fun games while not trying to be anything it's not. The Vita is a great system. A very powerful system with specs that could rivial early Ps3 games. However, it's not a great handheld. It tries to be a Ps3 on the go, and ends up caught in middle ground.

The 3DS on the other is a good system. Nothing too fancy about it. It creates great gameplay experiences that have enough visuals and sounds to rivial the Ps2. However it's not marketing itself as a Ps2, or a Wii in your hands. It's a 3ds. It's a handheld with a unique experience and 3d capability that you won't get anything else.

In closing, it can go both ways. The Vita is a better, more power system than the 3ds. However, the 3ds is a much better handheld than the Vita. It's not even really close actually.

P.S. I haven't posted here in a while due to military stuff but T-bone's your Nintendo threads are giving me a headache (still love you)
