Don't think this is entirely true since Wipeout was already finished after 2048 Fury DLC. They said that the franchise was over and it had nothing more to add. They closed the studio I think as well half year ago. Colin Moriarty already stated that he was invited to see some secret Sony stuff as well as other journalists.
