On Reddit, a user has shared a pretty interesting perspective on exclusive games for Xbox 360 and PS3 (for a time period of 2010-2013). As per the details shared by the user, during this time period Xbox 360 received just 12 exclusive (core games) whereas PS3 received massive 56 core exclusive games.

Furthemore, During this four years time period Microsoft relelased 42 titles for Kinect where Sony just released 20 titles for PS Move.

The difference is clearly visible, PS3 gamers have received more exclusive core games in four years time (including 2013) than Xbox 360.

Lack of Core Exclusive Games is surely going to be one of the main reason why gamers will move on to PS4 over Xbox One (assuming that above trend continues, especially now bundled Kinect with Xbox One).

NOTE:

  1. Exclusive Retail Games Definition, The game has exclusively been released and sold as retail for either PS3/Xbox 360 in both North America and Europe. The game has not at anypoint been released on any platform. Ports, HD remakes and HD remasters do not count.
  2. XBLA and PSN Games not taken into account

Respect to Sony. While Multiplats were struggling on PS3, Sony Worldwide studios gave playstation nation games which worked and also set benchmark for rest the industry and while doing it they turned a console with no games at launch, to a console with largest No. of exclusives games.

P.S. Although its a PSN game I think Journey deserves a mention its nothing short of a AAA title
