But let's say 8 million copies at $20 (far from every copy will be sold at full price), that gives $160 million in revenue.

It seems Bungie will have spent 4 years developing Destiny when it's released in 2014, and if we assume an average team size of 200 people, that means roughly $80 million for the core development budget.

Add another $20 mill for extra costs, outsourcing, voice acting, music score and stuff and $60 million on marketing and it adds up to $160 mill.
