I'm NOT happy that "3D Mario" now means "Galaxy". Does he realise that 64 and Sunshine had unique, worldbuilding, nonlinear qualities that people also liked? Or that random platforms in space, while easy to develop, is no longer innovative?

sunshine shouldnt be in that sentence, it wasnt polished, very glitchy, wasnt innovative, and sold a lot less then say 64, galaxy, or even the current 3d land. Great game, but had a lot of problems and wasnt well liked at all back in the day.

This.

Sunshine certainly had its great moments but there were parts in that game that were just plain bad. Furthermore, many of the levels just didn't feel different enough from one another. Let's just say that if Mario goes on vacation again I hope he chooses a better place...

OT: Fantastic news and I expected as much. Galaxy 3 (or Universe, whatever they call it) has too many great possibilities to ignore... and there's a big enough fan base that wants it.
