Is PS4 dominating One in internet polls a hint at hardcore gamers heavily favoring it?

Yeah, I don't think so either. But could it be that this is what the hardcore gamer ratio will look like, while One will fill in the gap a bit with casuals?

I still doubt even that. $400 or $500 plus a game or 2 is a pretty big investment. A lot of hard core gamers are going to have trouble sinking that much money into it just because they can't afford it. That being said, basically all of my  close friends have current gen consoles, and only one of them (of 10 or 15 people) is going to get an xbox one. I'm getting a PS4 with shadowfall day 1, can't wait!
