I watched how MS fought really hard to earn a reputation in Japan with a lot of JRPGs like Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata, Tales of Vesperia, Infinite Undiscovery, The Last Remnant, Star Ocean 4, Enchanted Arms, Magna Carta 2, etc. and although some of them were timed, they did came first on the Xbox360... And after all that, the Japanese still said "くたばれXbox360!" (Go to hell Xbox360!)...

I think if they want to really push into the Japanese market, they need to differentiate themselves from Sony... The multiplatform titles and even timed Xbone exclusives will be bought on PS4 so it's all about the exclusive content (and not DLC, that won't work either), they need to have a really strong lineup of exclusive games that appeal to the Japanese (and not just JRPGs), plus, if they're serious with their TV stuff, they need to have shows like exclusive anime content, and they need to adjust Kinect to the Asian market (apparently this is the real reason for the delay)...

Now, the thing here is that Sony is going to have a headstart with the launch, the price and the really good press that they've been getting, things that the PS3 didn't have and it still outsold the 360... So it's going to be more difficult this time around...
