"I wonder how Americans are gaming at home. Whenever I'm playing a game, I never feel like I want to watch TV, so the ability to switch between the two makes no sense to me."

Wonderful. For people saying Japan is irrelevant your blowin smoke. Japan will be the reason why PS3 beats outsells the 360 in the end and the reason MS will never have the top spot. The amount of more consoles they would have to sell in other regions to make up for what they aren't selling in Japan is nearly impossible to do consistently and thats without the competition.

You mean the 1.7 million or whatever the 360 has sold in Japan? I kind of think that would be pretty easy to make up in the US or Europe.

I suggest you read his post correctly. Then edit your post accordingly.

I read it correctly.

No you have not. Here is a hint, your number is wrong.

I didn't give a factual number. "1.7 or whatever". Please edit your post accordingly.

1.7 or whatever is a bit far from the 10million mark which you should have mentioned as your approximate, so my point is still valid.

Your mistake is in assuming they need to make up 10 million in Japanese sales. I understand that's what the competition sells, but they are not the competition. And that number will be even less next gen as Japan continues to shrink as a home console market.

Your "point" is just numbers semantics.
