Am I the only one who plays a game and doesnt take the themes within a game too seriously? :/

Well if you are a gamer into gameplay, then that could make sense.  But do you get immersed into worlds, or just play them for the play mechanics being interesting?

Well I play games regardless of the gameplay (unless its sports - cant stand those games).

Story telling is a major factor for me but I wont let it affect me or cloud my judgment on the overall game because of a certain theme within it. Also I am a Christian, I've played other games with similar themes or themes that copy from Christianity (i.e. FFTactics having that religion in the storyline or Breath of Fire II's religion clearly being copy of Christianity/catholicism in terms of figure/appearance ) - I honestly dont see anything wrong with games having such themes.

I find it funny people are quitting the game after finding out how the themes are portrayed in the game.

We have no idea how the actual ending was prior.  I was just expressing that I could see how some might take offense, and also was dismayed that individuals on the internet were all irate over people who were actually close to the project than them ended up expressing concerns, and the concerns were honored.  It was all, as I saw it, really a sign of intolerance.  I am not going to speak against people being wrong for having intolerance though, but can speak to how such intolerance is reflected, and degress of inconsistency one might have.

In regards to the storytelling side, I would have to know the story and so on.  I do take issues with some themes and won't touch them pretty much (like Naughty Bear reall was off to me), and some game mechanics don't resonate with me either.  From a Christian perspective, on a personal level, I do wonder about bigger picture things with my life and prioritizing.  For me, I am doing game design now, because I don't see much else to do with my time, as working on a book with 100 of my games seems to be something solid.  Is there something more suited for Christ that I could be doing?  I would certainly like to hear.  Heck, I would also like to hear on the career front what is a better thing to do.  Thus far, I don't get any answers.

On the spending of time, I am reminded of something Paul wrote: "Redeem the hours, for the times are evil", so I do see reasons to mindfully think about what is going on.
