Well then NES excells for you , but I still think a game like Metroid Prime did a much better job for the time then Metroid. If you don't read the lores, you can basically ignore the story in MP, but the atmosphere and erie music make this game phenominal. You never get that feeling of isolation in Metroid, but in Metroid Prime you do.


If there was nothing on the market except NES, Master System, and Atari at the time when you played  Metroid 1 you would have gotten that feeling of isolation I gaurantee.  But I know exactly what you mean.  It's all relative to the standards you come to expect.  I probably wouldn't like it either if I were you.  I don't like gameboy..  aside from metroid 2.
