If there was nothing on the market except NES, Master System, and Atari at the time when you played Metroid 1 you would have gotten that feeling of isolation I gaurantee. But I know exactly what you mean. It's all relative to the standards you come to expect. I probably wouldn't like it either if I were you. I don't like gameboy.. aside from metroid 2.
