Well then NES excells for you 
, but I still think a game like Metroid Prime did a much better job for the time then Metroid. If you don't read the lores, you can basically ignore the story in MP, but the atmosphere and erie music make this game phenominal. You never get that feeling of isolation in Metroid, but in Metroid Prime you do.
