I'd argue that GBC is to GB as DSi is to DS.

and you would be wrong as the GBC had games made specifically for it that could not be played on a regular gameboy. DS and DSi had no such issues. 

Yes, they did. Less, but they still had games not compatible with one another. Not even counting DSi-ware.

Im not talking the DL stuff, what physical retail DS game did not work with all DS systems?
