I think sometimes people often forget that the rise in digital sales, for handheld games especially, makes direct comparisons with numbers for past games very misleading. I know that digital sales on the Vita are quite high and I would imagine the same is true for the 3DS. Games like Soul Sacrifice and Luigi's Mansion have probably sold many more copies than we can see here. I would also love to know what kind of numbers digital content on the PS3 and Wii U is seeing in Japan, or if that's more of a western trend with home consoles.

The Vita had a nice week for both hardware and software. Holy Sorcery Story is soon, I think. The lack of noticeable bumps for the 3DS and PS3 is a bit of a surprise, though. Of course, the PS3 is at a high saturation level, and I would imagine that Luigi fans are a subset of Mario fans, who mostly already have a 3DS.
