I agree the jump is big actually I think the difference between PS2 and PS3 will in hindsight be not as big as the difference between PS3 and PS4.
The resolution increase might not be 3 times this time but its still 2 times the resolution which is alot.
But the big changes aside from vastly improved IQ. Will be stuff like lighting, water, physics and more complex geometry. The difference on a screenshot might be small but the feeling of the game will be influenced alot and define next gen. It will influence gaming more than just higher res and better textures like last gen.
People will laugh about the notion this jump wasn't big in 5 years just as much as people laugh now about the xbox 360 being called xbox 1.5.
