I'm far most likely to buy a PS4. I originally didn't like Xbox because they were entering a market I thought couldn't support 3 consoles because of what happened to Sega. R.I.P. That and the large controllers, but once they released the new controller s and I got the Xbox as a gift I started liking it.

Then the 360 came out and XBL subscriptions became the norm as opposed to LAN. The RROD also warding me very far away from it as I wasn't even able to play with the friends I knew who bought one because they all broke down between Christmas and their return back to college. But it is mostly XBL that is holding me back from a MS console. I was a big Halo 2 fan and once Halo 3 came out, I was just disappointed and pretty done with the series (reach seemed good and so does Halo 4). Then the CoD craze started and that was multiplatform. I also hated Gears of War.

I couldn't afford a new console for a while, not till after I graduated in 2010 and by then it was PS or bust because it had no subscription fee, more exclusives, more classic games, internet browser, and I knew a few friends from college and I played their PS3s and really liked the XMB way more than the 360 blades or the new UI at the time (same with Metro, not a fan).

Microsoft has shown me very little that interests me and I would probably be more likely to buy a Wii U as Nintendo is looking like they are moving away from what they did with the Wii, despite how I consider their console is going to be far less powerful than the PS4.

Your questions:
1. Yes, RROD helped keep my away from 360
2. Yes but not purely. I like Sony as a company/publisher and their products. I have a built up investment in their gaming ecosystem.
3. Yes. There always is an initial warranty or I can get the thing fixed. What the system is will be obvious pre launch so unless there are concerns I am saving up money now for launch hardware.
4. I don't know...if it is more than $599 I will have to wait.
5. I don't really care about an extended warranty if the system is built properly. I can always buy a PS protection plan.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(
