I like to consider myself open-minded when it comes to politics. While I give any president a chance if they win, I know I have my bias (as does everyone) and I wanted Obama to lose the election as I felt he didn't deserve a second chance. Although he still doesn't deserve to be in office (In my opinion) his actions over gun control have been a nice thing to see.

I am tired of some insane person running into a crowded area killing each other and listening to both sides say how horrible it is and neither of them doing a damn thing about it. I am also tired of these gun people spinning ANY attempt at a solution as (YOU'RE TAKING MAH RIGH!). If you don't want gun control I can't wait to see what measures your side takes to stop these crazy acts.

As far as I can see this issue goes down like this. Shooting -----> Emotion ------------> Democratic party offers a solution --------------> R party cries about it ------------> Democratic party does nothing ----------------> Nothing happens. GG Obama.

News flash, this legislation will likely do little if anything to curb gun violence. What gun control legislation often does accomplish is expand the black market and help fund organized crime. There is no utopian society, many issues have no potential solution. Use logic and reason, there is no way to justify limiting individual freedom when there is no evidence that it will serve to correct the problem at hand. I wish people would stop tripping up over themselves to violate the constitution while growing the ever expanding, ever obtrusive nanny-state while doing nothing to help. I wish people would stop allowing their emotions to cloud their judgement. I wish that tragedies such as the Newtown shooting wouldn't cause such knee-jerk reactions. Sure, it's an awful event that we all wish that we could have prevented but guess what, there might have been no way to do so, let alone without going against the intent of the Founding Fathers or the basic tenants of democracy.

Who is getting their freedom limited? And if they are how so? Should people be able to do anything they want and own w/e they want and as much of it as they want with? Right to bear arms =/= government trying to control weapons (whose only purpose is to kill MANY people and notihng else). When Government tries to ban every weapon then I will join you.

If his acts have no effect on these events, then I hope they keep trying to figure this problem out. Doing nothing solves nothing. Saying an issue can't be solved does nothing. Making a few attempts that doesn't really have an negative effect on anyone could potientially do nothing as well, but its a start and better then doing nothing.

People are getting their freedom to wage unlimited war on the government limited.
