marketshare:
X360 has been ahead of the PS3 this whole gen despite being handicaped due to competing in one less market(JP) and the huge global Playstation brand awareness. Doesn't matter if MS finishes last or not, they have already beaten Sony this gen and this is FACT.

Credit where credit is due.
Gaming experience:
Sony gave gamers the best overall gaming experiences this generation with their exclusives.

360 has more exclusives LOL

MS put up a good fight, and pre-2009 it was the console of choice. Esxclusives were better, the price was more affordable, and in general it was a better console.

However post 2009, MS kind of gave up. All we see are Halo sequels, remakes, and prequels, Forza after Forza, and just the same few brands over and over. No more 3rd party or unique exclusives like Lost Odyssey, Too Human, or Tales of Vesperia, and the few new IP's are available on PC (e.g. Alan Wake).

Credit where credit is due.

Sony eventually came thrugh to the gamers, and 2009-201? PS3 is the best 7th gen system to have.
Ms did extremely well, giving itself a brand name, outpacing the PS3 upto the release of 8th gen consoles.
Nintendo really did well, going from 3rd to 1st, making AAA iterations of their best franchises (Mario Galaxy is arguably the best Mario 3D platformer, Skyward Sword, XenoBlade, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Metroid Prime, etc, all among the best games Nintendo has ever made).

this post sums up what happened this gen nicely. this is exactly how it was.
