I actually think the game looks pretty good... The story that they're trying to create sounds interesting, and I'm looking forward to playing it. I can understand why people would be upset by a reboot, especially one that seems so different from previous games in the franchise, but if the game is good, I can't say that I personally mind. As for the simple controls... well, I like the Assassin's Creed games, so that doesn't bother me either.
(Disclaimer; I only ever played the first Tomb Raider game up until a few days ago when I bought the bundle on Steam with all of the games. Been playing through Legend, and it's pretty fun.)
