Poor Sam Fisher. It looks as though the stalker is being stalked himself for once -- as according to this video interview with Splinter Cell: Blacklist's art director, the third-person camera through which you play Sam resembles an actual camera this time, with lens flares and raindrop splatters and everything. And as we can see from some new gameplay footage, Blacklist's stealthy action is veneered with a beautiful, film-like aesthetic.

Light and shadow is being played upon as well, with some awesome effects that remind me a little of the Silent Hill series. But I understand if you couldn't care less about the artistic direction, and instead simply want to know: Is this game going to be awesome? And if these new snippets of gameplay footage are anything to go by, yeah, it's going to be awesome. It's been awhile since I played a good, solid, pure-stealth game, and it looks like Blacklist's moody atmosphere just may cinch it.
