That must be due to low shipments, not popularity. Because on german Amazon, the Lumia 920 is still as low as place 87 in their mobile phone sales charts, and it's still instantly available.
Another hint that this device is not extremely popular over here is the number of shops selling the device. There are only 23 german onlineshops even selling the Lumia 920. For comparison: There are 135 german onlineshops selling the Samsung Galaxy S3.
Even Nokia's outdated Windows Phone 7 devices are selling a lot better, if only because of massive price cuts.
