I, too, am a recent convert to the Slim (160GB), and what struck me immediately was that it was completely silent other than a few disk whirring sounds, whereas my four and a half year old 40GB sounded like a jet engine at all times.
Why on earth are you even carrying your Slim? Leave it on the floor like a normal person
