The sources also pointed out that the Surface tablet PCs have successfully attracted the attention of consumers, but the strategy also means that Microsoft will directly compete against its downstream partners in the Windows-based tablet PC market. 799 for the pro is anything but high priced especially for the corporate world
on the last beat it could be true.... but looking at how windows tablet don't sell right now... if the surface work it might actually helped their partner... by developing the market they can create huge opportunity, either with some pricing their tablet lower through economy of scale of their own hardware production.... or more powerful device....
i just read the article on gizmodo about windows phone 8 and it has built in support for up to 64 cores.... so windows 8 pc should be future proof and help partners come out with beasty tablets or ultrabook tablets like the dual screen asus taihi or something like that for the long run...
