I thought the Wii was in its own generation too xD!

People who bought 100 million wiis (close to 100 mil), I would say 1/3 of them are xbox-ps3 owners! xD.

So...

25% of Xbox/PS owners have a Wii?  O.O

Only if there is zero overlap between owners of 360s and owners of PS3s.

If we assume, say, a 1/4 overlap from the 360's perspective - that is, 1/4 of 360 owners also own a PS3, then the numbers work out a bit differently.

1/4 of 360's base is 16.78 million. So total PS3/360 install base is 115.325 million. Therefore, if 1/3 of Wii owners also owns one of the other two consoles at least, that's over 27.5%.

More generally, if the overlap between PS3 and 360, from the perspective of the 360, is X (as a fraction), and the overlap between Wii and PS3/360, from the perspective of the Wii, is Y (again, as a fraction), then, as of 2nd of June 2012, the fraction of PS3/360 owners who own a Wii, Z, is given by

Z = 96 Y / (67.1 (1-X) + 65)

Just for the sake of it... if we normalise and simplify a bit, we get

Z = Y / (1.376 - 0.699 X)

I'm a mathematician. Can you tell?
