Because they just took the old concept polished it a bit and sell it as new. There are so many thing they could have done instead of this they just milked the old cow. I bet whatever you want "this game wont have a higher score than 85".

I hate it when people talk about Metascores, they are not accurate or reliable, but come on now... The lowest scoring God of War still received critical acclaim on the PSP at 86 on metashit, what makes you think the successor to the best-selling and most critically acclaim hack 'n slash ever is going to score less than that or fail completely? You can't judge a game over 9 months away from release on a speed run playthrough of a 7 min demo that you haven't even played for yourself. A franchise nearing 22 million units sold in 7 years isn't dying, DMC is having a reboot because it was dead with its latest game failing miserably critically and commercially, Ninja Gaiden is also dead now with their last hope pinned on the Wii U release, God of War is the only big (massive) hack 'n slash left that isn't dying and hasn't had a game anything less than brilliant released, it doesn't need a reboot, when the PS4 comes out I think God of War 4 will release as the start of a new trilogy like Halo 4, 5 & 6 and will involve different mythologies.

I bet once you get God of War: Ascension you'll love it and wonder why you were being so cynical and hostile towards the game, if you liked past games why not at least try to be a little optimistic, what's the point in being negative about something that will give you many hours of joy? Unless you're one of those people who expect the worst and hope for the best?

Anyhow, you're going to lose your bet to Pezus by the way. ;)
