The worst thing an industry can do is blame the consumer for not buying their crap. Obviously Sony's games don't appeal to the masses. Every Sony console has been dominated by third party software, the problem with that is third parties aren't loyal in the least.

Its not as simple as 'get a mascot like Mario' a mascot alone isn't enough, Mario games don't sell simply because Mario is on the cover, but for decades Mario represented quality, especially to the old school gamer or those that grew up with Super Mario Bros.

Variety is the spice of life Uncharted or GoW are good to have, but they won't do much for expanding Sony's audience, GT used to be a game on Par with a Halo, but that is no longer the case. Maybe the games aren't selling as well as they should because the games aren't as good as they should be.

Also, the Mario bros cartoon wasn't made in order to make Mario big, Mario was big so the cartoon was made.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.
