Most importantly, don't be too hard on yourself. You may not have the greatest job now, but your future is your own. If you look at people they don't want anything that is easily obtained. Make yourself scarce. Cancel dates. Stay home and select the time you want to spend out. People desire things that are hard to obtain. The moment a person smells desperation is the moment they start formulating an escape plan.
