It's a really good thing that the 3DS continues to dominate in Japan! More colors means more choices and more choices means more sales. It is also doing good in America.

You are going to wait a year before you pick it up! Why not just redbox it? Or better yet, Blockbuster just closed down another store in my area. Rent it from them.

We have absolutely no Blockbuster in our area. :'( I also don't like renting games that much. I would rather own them so that I could play them whenever. My main priority is the Wii U right now though.
