there is no way i would change my mind about this. the wii is the best console and i want all the best games for it. i always buy my wii games new on purpose so i can give the money to the developer. in fact, when i used to work at gamestop i used to try to get the customers to buy all the wii games new and all the 360/ps3 games used. i was pretty good at it.

if they brought up a newly released used wii game i would just say, 'well for five dollars more you can get a new copy, want to just do that?' similarly if they brought up a new copy of a newly released 360/ps3 game, i would just tell them, 'well for five dollars less, you could just get a used copy and you even have a seven day warranty if you dont like it.'

it was awesome. so yes, you dont have to worry about me, my money is going to nintendo on this one.

well excuse me for trying to utilize the tiniest bit of influence i have over the industry.

look, torillian, your set of values is a little different than mine, but that doesn't mean yours is right. microsoft and sony are nothing but LEECHES on this industry. they in no way care about the consumer as evidenced by their support of things like online pass and now locking out single player content for people who buy the game used is an ALL TIME LOW.

so, yes, i am going to try to screw these developers out of every new sale that i can. its the right thing to do.

I like the irony here, the reason online passes have come into existence is because of used game sales, and here you are going out of your way to make the PS3/360 get more used sales....

ah, i see that you believe it is used game sales that have brought online pass into existence, but this isnt so. many developers think that used game sales are killing their sales, so they try to take some measure against that, this is true, but the real thing that has brought online pass into existence is the internet and our consoles being so closely tied to it. it is seen as a new avenue to screw us over, which is very sad. :(

the fact is that the used game market and the new game market have been rising side by side in a very cohesive way for the past 20 to 30 years. so the used market has never been killing the new. i dont see why it would all the sudden now. if anything the used market stimulates the new. think of how many people across the world who trade in their games to get a new one because they dont have enough money, or they want to save some money. used games stimulate new sales. used games have never been a detriment to any developer, and if they have you believing that the used market is some sort of threat, then they have you completely fooled.
