I'd hazard a guess that this is my most played Playstation game, and by that I don't just mean on the PS3, but on every Sony console I've ever owned. For me to play something that much, it has to be pretty good, and LBP definitely is, despite its flaws and limitations. The levels that the game comes with are pretty standard platforming affairs, but it's the rare spectacular user created level that makes this game shine. Granted, there is a lot of utter garbage to sift through in order to find that 0.01% that are actually great (and I could be being generous with that percentage given there's millions of levels, so that would be into the hundreds), but it is more than worth it, as the best of the best levels even far outshine the levels Media Molecule created.
