Is this a real Mario Bros. game?

It's the only real Mario Bros. game.

But this thread is obviously about Super Mario Bros. which is the Nintendo series that matters the most. Mario Bros. wouldn't have turned the NES into a phenomenon, but Super Mario Bros. did. While "our" Super Mario Bros. 2 sold quite well, its sales paled in comparison to Super Mario Bros. 3. Super Mario World sold the SNES and guaranteed its success. NSMB Wii pushed the Wii to holiday sales records and became the fastest 10m selling game on a single platform.

It's baffling that it is so hard for people to comprehend just how big and important Super Mario Bros. is, especially because we are on a sales site here. Then again, Nintendo themselves also have trouble to figure it out too.

Super Mario Bros : the brand thats sold/sells the d-pad to the masses

??(unknown): the brand will that sell the analog stick to the masses

Touch generation games: the brand that sold/sells the touch screen to the masses

Wii sports: the brand that sold/sells motion controls to the masses

MarioKart: the brand that sells online to the masses

Wii fit: the brand that sold/sells the balance board to the masses

???( unknown): the brand that will sell 3d to the masses

Its interesting to note the analog stick one because Nintendo have yet to establish a brand to sell the analog stick to almost anyone ( including the casual, potential gamer type) on the scale like the others. I reckon its because it has always been attached to  really "casual unfriendly" controllers ( n64, gamecube, wii+nunchuck combo controllers). Super Mario 3d brand might do it, dunno.

Anyways,  the point of this is that the Super Mario Bros. brand is just a tool to "sell" the d-pad. Nothing more.
