What's with all the NMH hate? I thought it was good. Made me wish I didn't get blocked from playing killer 7 and pushed me play Contact (lot of meaningless effort to put in. Semi-good payoff.)

OT: I think that I'm glad I missed all the PS1 #'rd FF games. Don't know why though.

For a game that got hyped to all hell, it turned out IMHO to not be that good. You run down bland corridors and fight bland enemies, then you fight a boss and they look sorta cool. but the fight is not all that either, why the hell do i have to shake my Wiimote/Move in a jerk off motion to power up?? It wasnt fun the first time but they make you do it more than once?! I think the only reason why it got any attention was because it was one of the few M rated Wii games at the time and SOME Wii owners desperately needed something to look forward too on the Wii in this category. DMC4, GOW3, Bayonetta hell Castlevania LOS were way better action games than this, just my opinion

It got hyped in my eyes for 2 reasons:

#1 First use of a light saber game on the wii which was still very appealing to many people during the begining of this generation.

#2 The amount of over the topness which was shown in the trailers for the game in gore, characters, and story.

It felt like it was gonna be Star Wars meets Kill Bill and it exceeded my expectations in that front. The Game was so wierd (esspecially in the job side missions and story) that it made the game so unique and stand out from every game I've ever played. While I think you want to blame reason number #2 for many people being interested in the game, it was most likely reason #1.

P.S. The wii version only required a side to side motion to recharge the beam katana. If Suda and Konami made it manditory for a jerk off motion on PS3 then they are geniuses.

I agree with you on the uniqueness and it being over the top, but iMHO i just dont the actual gameplay was all that good, it wasnt terrible, but there are other games in the genre that do it better, IMHO. Uniqueness and style factor could only carry me so far, if Im not having fun (and I wasnt really) then its kinda meaningless. Didnt Force Unleashed release for Wii prior to NMHs, cause that game wasnt half bad, the only thing that sucked is that it was impossible to pull off special moves because the wiimote wasnt accurate worth a damn. Id rather take that than NMH IMo.

Nope, NMH came out Jan 22 2008 (a couple weeks early too) while SW:TFU came out on september 16. Eh, to each his own I guess dude. I Never played TFU. Heard terrible things about the secound one. LOL more games I'm glad I missed. :)

ok that makes sense, i played the sequel on 360 and i did not like it and judging by the sales im sure alot of people thought so too, i dont even wanna know how the Wii version turned out.  I played both HD and Wii version of the original and i liked them both, the wii version is good, not great. If you can borrow it or find it real cheap i would check it out
