How many playthroughs did it take to platinum Demon's Souls?

Four is the minimun number, because some archdemon's souls have four different uses.

Except if you pick up someone's weopon's in pvp right?

Anyways, four playthroughs it is then. I'm only on NG+ now. Already played 56 hours.

Funny how you sometimes can go through a whole level and finish a boss without dying, but then die several times at the hand of 'ordinary' foes all of a sudden. The game begs to be fully understood. Aah, what a gem.

In theory, if you do it online, you can finish it in two, since you need to watch both endings. You can have someone who already has all the weapons give them to you for you to hold them and register for the trophy. The problem is finding someone on NG+ who has all that and has a SL that can be summoned. 

And I fully understand your sentiment. For example, the Black Skeletons were themselves much harder than a lot of bosses in Demon's Souls. They required much more strategy and finesse.

That was exactly where I died! FIVE TIMES :(

The whole level is like a nightmare.

Told you so xD. Though that's the only way to get the Pure Bladestone from those guys. My favourite way to farm them was to silently approach them (as soul form and using the Thief Ring), backstab them and as they were laying down use Firestorm on their ass. Worked everytime XD.
