several games this year have been 8800gt like Crysis 2, The Witcher 2 etc. The 8800 series was so popular so long it makes sense to make it the minimum spec for games these days the 8800 and it's slightly tweaked 9800 gt brother are the number 1 and 2 card on the steam survey and it is a 4 year old card now. It's the price we pay for progress with PC games finally pushing well past console games in more than just resolution, frame rate and AA.
