The Karate Kid remake is a bad movie in many ways. Take off your jacket... Put on your jacket... My favorite thing about the movie is how it takes place in China, and the fighting style that Jackie Chan is teaching mini-Fresh Prince is called Kung Fu (he evens says that he's teaching him Kung Fu). There is no karate in the movie... I hope that Jackie got a nice paycheck to be involved in this embarrassment. I'm going to assume that you have seen the original Karate KId and would like to ask you in what way do you think that the new one is superior? Besides for the fact that Jackie Chan could kick Pat Morita's butt I have nothing. At least we agree on Young Frankenstein. You did say to nitpick. :p |
I knew they do Kung Fu and the title was a misnomer but that was to cash in on the previous films obviously. I like the movie because Jackie Chan is in a different kind of role than he is used to, not really fighitng but he still has a great physical presence. Also I give credit to Jaden Smith for holding his own onscreen with Jackie Chan and doing some impressive stunts. I love the setting, I think it is nicely shot and it entertained me.
I have seen the original. I never said the new one was superior, just that it is a good film.
