So this confirms by Nintendo what I already though, the 3D is a pointless feature.

Erm, no. It just means that 3D is optional, and they aren't forcing it on developers. It's the same way with the DS touchscreen.

"I think there could be a Nintendo 3DS software title which does not use the 3D feature at all, and I believe Nintendo will develop such software" Not forcing it on third parties is one thing, making a game yourself that doesn't use a display feature you put in the system yourself is another, the 3D obviously doesn't add anything to the game, this is just Nintendo sharing that view

No. Just because they don't cram it into every 1st party 3DS game (like they did with motion and the Wii) doesn't make it pointless. Mario Kart DS didn't use the DS' touchscreen, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl would be better off without motion control. You could say a similar thing about Sony and Sixaxis control, or Microsoft and Kinect. Just because they don't try to force somthing on us, doesn't make the feature pointless.

Okay first all of sixaxis didn't really go well and how is MS not forcing kinect on people? Secondly those are all control options, which effects gameplay, 3D is not a control option. Nintendo not putting 3D in a 3DS game is basically them saying this game would not benefit from 3D, and the fact that they even consider not putting it in means they already don't think it benefits games, or that people don't even want it. The best decisions Nintendo made when putting the 3D in is the off switch.

Sixaxis- Whether or not it actually worked with the PS3, the functionality was still there, and was supported in some 1st party PS3 games.

Kinect- How are they not forcing it on us? By selling standalone 4 and 250 GB 360s without Kinect, and, not making every 1st party game Kinect-only.

3DS- Just becase they may leave 3D out of one game doesn't mean they are giving up on it altogether (like you are implying). If a game won't benefit from 3D, then why force it onto every game? Another good comparison would be WiiMotion Plus, or, again the DS touch screen in Mario Kart. I'd rather them release a top-notch game without 3D, then release somthing that was ruined by 3D. (again, motion in Smash Bros., and to a lesser extent, DCKR). The motion didn't ruin the games, but didn't do much for them either.

Sixaxis- and eventually abandoned like Nintendo seems to be thinking of doing with 3D

Kinect- What retail exclusive came out this year that doesn't use kinect? And 3D is in every 3DS it's not like it's an add-on.

What game does benefit from 3D on the 3DS?

Sixaxis- What makes you so sure Nintendo will abandon 3D? They sure didn't abandon motion, after 2010 where there was

Kinect-the biggest 360 exclusive this year, Gears of War 3 (and they haven't spoken about Halo 4 yet)

Several games benefit from 3D. Where there were jaggies, there is warm dapth, and in some cases, a pop out effect. Distances are easier to tell (like in Pilotwings and Steel Diver), and it overall makes those games better, not to mention 3D Netflix  movies, and other stuff.

Sixaxis- they kinda did, kirby epic yarn and donkey kong country barely used motion controls and because they said they were thinking about not using 3D aka abandoning it

Kinect- I said came out not will come out

How do pop out effects benefit the game? and I'm sure smoothing software would have been easier, cheaper and more constant then 3D
