And that's probably the biggest slap in the face.  The general customer doesn't know this and when they open they're shiny (or slightly less shiny) used game, they're going to be surprised to find out they can't start over from the beginning.

Of course, if reports are true, Gamestop and the like aren't taking in used copies of this game...so win for Capcom?

That's true that it's a slap in the face, and once people realize that the save can't be reset word of mouth will probably ruin whatever chances the game would have used anyways. Haha yes, definitely a win for Capcom...
