The wii uses the same technology as the X360 (which is even a little more progressed since unifing CPU/GPU on a single die). there will probably be a 30% performance boost max. compared to X360, mainly due to more memory available.

Saying "The Wii U is using the same technology as the XBox 360" is kind of like saying "The XBox 360 is using the same technology as the Gamecube" ...

Just because the component manufacturers involved are the same does not mean that the technology involved is the same.
