There are many reasons why they haven't mentioned it. The three biggest reasons I can think of right now are that Nintendo is focused on presenting the controller right now, which is quite obviously what they did; they still haven't sorted out the technical details and don't want to mention anything about the system until they're finish; or they don't want to reveal the capabilities of the system to their competitors during the competitors peak development period. All three of these or a combination could be the explanation.
