There's always that option called "not buying the game" than buying it, getting disappointed and hating on it.
COD has now become the guilty pleasure of gaming, the people who predominantly hate it, buy it, enjoy it and then feel silly for getting swept into the phenomenon, and so ultimately hate on it. And the cycle repeats each year.
