I remember reading about the delay of the 3DS shop alittle while ago and I thought for a second the news of the delay came so close to the news from Sony. Now yes I know the Shop was supposed to launch this month so any delay would have been announced now anyways.

But I couldn't help but wonder if Nintendo is delaying the shop and online network for 3DS till they can boost security and ensure hackers don't crack the 3DS network. Sony's situation is no doubt being followed very closely by Nintendo's higher ups.

I wouldn't be suprised if Nintendo is taking second looks at its security and learning from Sony's mistakes to make the 3DS network more secure than Sony's. I wouldn't be suprised if Sony's recent troubles influenced Nintendo's release plans.

Also Nintendo would rather double up security and delay the network then launch the network and have it hacked and brought down by those low life cyber terrorists!

What do you think, coincidence or is Nintendo shoring up its security measures?
