I'd rather install a game on a hard drive to allow for less wear and tear on the optical disc drive.  And then I have the luxury of not having to swap discs while the game potentially runs smoother.  Besides, no one is going to make me sit and wait to have a game installed.  I'll have it installed earlier while doing something else before play.  Why do some selectively forget this, go figure.
