if Nintendo was planning on releasing a console ahead of the others, the timing of the next Xbox gives them more time to make a better Wii. With a better idea of the timeframe of the competition Nintendo has more flexibility and options. They probably no longer have to rush the console out by 2012, and will likely wait until 2013, maybe 2014 (though I dount it).
