Because otherwise why wouldn't you put in on the Wii. Though that hasn't stopped some people, for example Disgaea 3. Though considering how small Nippon Ichi studios is...(or atleast how small i beleive they are) this was probably started before anyone knew the Wii would be a success.

Either way, there isn't really an advantage to putting a Suikoden game on the Wii other then it being cheaper to make. I mean it's your basic menu JRPG that takes 2 buttons and a control pad.

The Wii has other technical limitations aside from the lack of HD graphics for one thing and you hit the nail on the head with the basic menu comment meaning that the Wii's motion controls seemingly wouldn't add much to the game.  The cost of the game itself without HD graphics and a lot of other complicated programming that most PS3 titles to date have emphasized is debatable.  I certainly couldn't put a number to it.

I think the game could easily be viable on either console however people such as Bodhesatva and others have wear blinders when it comes to their expectations for each console.  Expecting every Wii game to use the IR pointer/waggle as well as every PS3 game to push ultra high HD graphics are examples of blinders some people wear (though not necessarily the same people).
