Thats the way it is every gen, theres no way in hell third parties would have any more costs then they did originally. You act like third parties were ONLY developing for the WII at first. But the 360 came out a year before it. And your price cut argument makes no sense. The WII IS the driving force for why the systems have been price cutting so much since it is the cheapest. Theres no way Sony would have had to drop the price of the ps3 by 300$ in three years to keep up with the 360 which has only been under it by 100-200$.

You kidding? Don't you see how terrible this generation is already? I'm not an analyst of any sort or anything remotely close to it, but something tells me that not every generation has its biggest players drowning in losses. Check that thread about Gaming Division results or just look at the front page. This generation isn't just bad, it's terrible, financially. Without Nintendo, the industry would have been losing so much money each year in the past few years, it wouldn't have been funny.

Also, obviously third parties didn't develop only for Wii - they barely developed for it at all - but, if they were to focus all their resources on the HD consoles, which I believe were not initially very profitable, they would've been in an even worse state.

And, honestly, PS3 and 360 were almost in a different market altogether from the Wii. If they'd been against each other and no one else, they probably would have focused more on draining from each other's sales, with the use of price cuts, moneyhatting even more exclusives and what not, rather than draining from the Wii's sales as they're trying to do with Move and Kinect.

By the way, I have almost no idea what I'm talking about and this is mostly just what idea I get from looking at stuff and guesswork so if I've said something completely wrong or baseless or stupid, please let me know.
