The game was $20 on Amazon during black friday week, not that a low price fixes any of the inherent problems of any game, but that would have been better than the $50 I wasted on a game I feel isn't good enough to bother finishing.
I could ignore the story and out-of-character characterization, since those can't completely wreck an action game that should work first and foremost through strong gameplay, controls and mechanics, but I have to say Other M more or less fell short on each of those as well.
Making a 2.5D game using the Remote D pad only, the control flipping "feature", the aggravating "search for the pixel on a static screen" sequences, loose controls, lack of aiming in 2D mode, etc. etc. wrecked the game for me.
Easily the worst Metroid game to date as a player who's been with the franchise since the original Metroid.
