Also, there will be rule changes next season.  Last year we added more incentive then just gamerscore...  Platinum points and weekly true achievement ratio...  This year I will try and improve upon those so people are encouraged to be great gamers in what matters to them (Quality achievements over quantity, fully completing games, and encouraging people to play new games more).

Sumary of key changes:

- I will remove anyone with less then 200 GS each full year

- There will be 20 point tournaments for games that have more then 20 owners

- You will get 7 points for platinums

- Top TA ratio for the week will be up to 10 points scaled for each position instead of 6

- You need at least 151 gamerscore points in a week to qualify for weekly TA ratio points

- And if you leave the league and ask to come back your league point history will not return.  It costs me about 20 minutes per gamer to set them up and remove them.  This is because of the platinum award effects on the league (when a gamer leaves platinums are removed and reawarded, when a new gamer starts I have to get their platinums in place).  The change is a penalty for joining, leaving, and rejoining.

General Information
This league will be updated every Thursday night (North American Evening).  In Europe this is Friday morning, and in the far east this is Friday early evening.  The specific time will vary based on my schedule.  Note:  If you get achievements after 7:00 PM (GMT -07:00) on Thursday there is a good chance that they will not show up until the following week in the league.

I reserve the right to remove anyone from the league if I feel you are not gaming fairly.

If you change your xbox.com privacy settings to hide your gamercard rather then making it available to everyone you will be removed from the league.  Also, at the end of each season gamers that got less then 200 gamerscore all season will be removed from the league.  Anyone can ask to re-enter the league but your accumulated history of league points will be reset to zero as a penalty for the effort required in reinstating you.

When changing gamertags please ensure that you PM me the change.  Also, you may want to check MGC afterwards as your games disappear from their site when you change gamertags.  You will have to bring each game to the start screen in order for it to re-sync at MGC.

Gamerscore League Points
Gamerscore is measured on a weekly basis for the league.  The top 6 gamerscores in the league each week receive league points as follows:

          1st=6pts, 2nd=5pts, 3rd=4pts, 4th=3pts, 5th=2pts, 6th=1pt

If your weekly gamerscore is inordinately high and the achievements are not dated (they acquired offline) then your weekly score will be set to zero and automatically disqualified from receiving league points in that week.

True Achievement League Rules and Points
True Achievement league points are awarded each week to the top six True Achievement to Gamerscore ratios for the week.  This is calculated by:

1) Taking your True Achievement score this week and subtracting your last week's True Achievement score
2) Taking your Gamerscore this week and subtracting your last week's Gamerscore
3) If #2 is less then 151 your ratio is automatically 0.  If #2 is greater then 150, then divide #1 by #2 and you have your True Achievment ratio for the week!  If your TA ratio is less then zero it will automatically be set to zero.

Please note: Your True Achievement ratio automatically fluctuates even if you are not gaming.  This is because your True Achievement score is constantly being recalculated by the TrueAchievements site based on the number of gamers that have at least one achievement in the game and the achievements they are constantly acquiring.

The True Achievements leaderboard may be found here:

True Achievements Leaderboard for this league here

You may want to verify your true achievement scores are up-to-date on the True Achievements site before the cut-off each Thursday.  If your True Achievements score is not up-to-date, you can do so, by requesting an update when logged into the True Achievements web site (Refresh icon just below your avatar picture on your TA home page).

True Achievement weekly points are awarded as follows:

          1st=10pts, 2nd=7pts, 3rd=5pts, 4th=3pts, 5th=2pts, 6th=1pt

MyGamerCard.NET Leaderboards
The league is also available through MyGamerCard.NET where I keep a leaderboard for this league.  In general MyGamerCard.NET is the most up-to-date source for league information on gamerscores and game standings.  But there are circumstances where MyGamerCard.NET is not up-to-date.  The league updates are taken directly from xbox.com.  Therefore, the league is the most up-to-date source upon each weekly update.

MyGamerCard.NET uses a synchronization process to get the latest XBox Live scores from Microsoft.  When you sign up for an account  there is a one time synchronization that takes place.

Sometimes the ongoing sync process at MyGamerCard.NET fails for seemingly unknown reasons.  If your achievements are not getting updated there are two things that can be done to try and "Nudge" the site to update.  First, log in under your MGC account and look at your games profile.  Second, once this is done and updates are continuing you may have to put any games that don't have your up-to-date achievements or don't show up at all in your 360 and load them to the start screens.

Tournament League Points and Rules
Tournaments are for the first month of newly released games.  All game releases will have the potential to be a tournament.  Tournaments will be made for games getting 5 or more owners under certain conditions.  All games with 10 or more owners qualify for tournaments.

All tournaments last about 4 weeks.  This may be adjusted to take in account staggered worldwide release schedules and to fit with my personal travel schedules.  Upon request, if worldwide release are staggered months apart I will start a tournament for a specific region.  All of the same rules apply for the tournament.

A partial tournament can take place with 5 owners or more.  For a game with less than 10 owners to qualify as a partial tournament it must:

     - Have at least 5 owners with at least one achievement in the game
     - The game has to have 5 owners one week before the tournament closes

If an offline gamer suddenly shows up in the last week of a game tournament with a gamerscore that takes points, they may be disqualified automatically from the tournament.  Please, try to log on to Xbox Live at least once per week if you intend to participate in tournaments.

Tournaments are "First over the finish line".  Meaning, the first person to get the achievement position gets the points.  If there is a tie, then your gamertag will be viewed and the person that got their last achievement first, wins the place in the tournament.  If the gamers are still tied then the gamer who got the most achievements earlier will be placed on top.  Gamers with dated achievements will get preference over gamers that do not have dated achievements.

Tournament points are awarded as follows:
     Games 700 Points or more with 20 or more owners
          1st=20pts, 2nd=16pts, 3rd=12pts, 4th=8pts, 5th=4pts, 6th=2pt

     Games 700 Points or more with 10 or more owners
          1st=10pts, 2nd=8pts, 3rd=6pts, 4th=4pts, 5th=2pts, 6th=1pt

     Games 700 Points or more with 5 or more owners, but less then 10
          1st=5pts, 2nd=3pts, 3rd=1pt

     Games with less than 700 Points with 20 or more owners
          1st=12pts, 2nd=10pts, 3rd=8pts, 4th=6pts, 5th=4pts, 6th=2pt

     Games with less than 700 Points with 10 or more owners
          1st=6pts, 2nd=5pts, 3rd=4pts, 4th=3pts, 5th=2pts, 6th=1pt

     Games with less than 700 with 5 or more owners, but less then 10
          1st=3pts, 2nd=2pts, 3rd=1pt

Platinum Game Award Rules and Points
Platinum Awards are prestige for gamers who have the most achievements in any given game based on their xbox.com gamer card.

In order for a game to qualify for the Platinum Awards the game must have at least 10 owners and less then 34% of owners can have maximum achievements in the game.  I have written software to look at each gamercard directly on xbox.com.  Therefore, there may be differences in the number of owners appearing on MyGamerCard.NET and the number of owners that appear in the league updates.  The software running this league is more accurate because it uses real time information from xbox.com.

Once a game qualifies for the Platinum Game award it will continue to do so, even if the number of owners falls below 10 for the entire league season.  This is to keep awards from appearring and disappearring.  Platinum Game awards will be reset at the start of each season (Once per year) to get rid of games below 10 owners.

League points will be awarded for each platinum award gained.  7 League points are awarded to someone when:

1) A game has just reached the required 10 gamers and has not ever been a platinum award or the new high score in a platinum game causes someone in the league to lose a platinum award
2) For new high scores, the high score must be achieved within the timeframe since the last league update with mostly dated achievements to receive league points
