It depends. If the invading country esentially treats me as a second class citizen, not giving me any rights and persecuting me (like the empires who ruled over the region where Romania is currently located), I'd definately join or found some sort of resistence movement.

However if the invading country treated me like any other citizen of it's empire, allowing me all the rights and freedoms that any other citizen has, then I'd have no problem with it. It would probably be a good thing in the long run.

If you want to create a alrge empire, you need to create an assimilation plan where the conquered populations eventually are assimilated and become equal citizens of the empire, or else people will eventually rise up and the empire will crumble.
