Why do some people want to use motion controls for core games?

I think next gen a split standard controller would be awesome.  You can lounge in any position you want but will still have the standard control scheme.   

I agree with the OP.  Games like Wii Sports are amazing for motion controls, but when Killzone 3 rolls around, you won't be seeing me with a Move in my hand.
