I usually play core games for hours for example call of duty and I would hate to have to point at where I am shooting just because it might be more accurate. If I wanted to shoot more accurate I simply play the game on a computer with a mouse. When I played Mario Galaxy all I wanted was to have the same controls as Super Mario 64. One of my favorite games of all time is Mario Kart and thank god I didn't need to bother with motion controls. Hell I was really looking forward to Joyride but not being able to use a regular control killed it for me. I am still hoping that someday they can patch it or release a new version that allows you to use a regular controller.
By the way I have no problem with motion controls as I enjoyed playing Wii-Sports, Kinect Sports and I hear Champions is pretty awesome but I wouldn't play those games for hours. Most of the times when I am playing core games I am laying down on the sofa or bed with minimal effort. With a regular controller my hands rest comfortably and I know that all the inputs are fairly accurate. Basically I want motion controls and core games to stay separate or at a minimum allow me to use both that way hopefully everyone is happy.
